Verify the pickup
Use the name, number and meeting point in your written confirmation. Before entering a vehicle, confirm the lead traveler, destination and provider. Do not rely on an unsolicited message that changes a payee or payment link.
Share plans carefully
Give essential trip information only to the provider involved. Avoid posting live location, accommodation or absence details publicly. Keep copies of important travel documents in a secure place.
Plan around daylight and known locations
Use established, well-traveled areas, particularly when unfamiliar with the island. Ask the hotel, cruise line or identified local provider about current area and transport guidance.
Monitor official weather
Caribbean conditions can change quickly. Check the Bahamas Department of Meteorology before boat, beach, watercraft or extended road plans. The Atlantic hurricane season officially runs June 1 through November 30, though severe weather can occur outside those dates.
Understand activity risks
For watercraft, ATVs, scooters, buggies and animal or beach activities, identify the legal operator and review eligibility, protective equipment, insurance, boundaries, waivers, weather and emergency procedures.
Have a communication plan
Keep a charged phone, the confirmed provider number and accommodation contact. Decide how the group will reconnect if separated, and follow local authorities and the responsible activity operator during an emergency.
